Facial Massage

What is a somatic facial & buccal massage?

Somatic facial and buccal massage combines therapeutic techniques to sculpt and lift the face while addressing emotional blockages and tension that contribute to wrinkles and deep lines. This holistic approach promotes relaxation and rejuvenation, enhancing both physical appearance and emotional well-being.

What is buccal Massage?

Buccal Massage is a specific technique that targets the lips, lower face, cheeks, and jaw area. It is a preventative and corrective technique that is unique as it blends facial sculpting massage with an intra-oral massage (performed inside the mouth). This allows access to muscles that are not normally addressed, making it a wonderful treatment for sculpting, relaxing and improving lower facial tone.

Buccal Massage can help to:

  • Rejuvenate the face

  • Relax tight muscles of the jaw

  • Tone and sculpt the face

  • Improves Circulation

  • Improves complexion

  • Reduce puffiness of the cheeks and lower face

  • Improve jawline

  • Soften fine lines

  • Reduce TMJ pain

  • Reduce Headaches and Migraines from clenching and grinding

  • Stimulates healthy lymph drainage of the face

What is a myofascial facial?

Unlike traditional massages that target the skin’s surface, the Myofascial facial massage delves deeper, focusing on the fascia – the connective tissue situated between muscles. Fascia tends to become stuck within the layers of the skin and muscles which can increase the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Myofascial face massage can release stuck fascia and may stimulate restorative cellular activity to tighten the skin and tone the underlying muscles.

The tension in our faces drives the stress response, influencing us to feel anxious and breathe shallowly. The damage it does to the muscles makes our faces appear languid, overwrought, and weak. Deep tissue massage is the only way to counteract this. Compression and percussion will reinvigorate the muscle, increase blood supply, reverse muscle shortening, remove trigger points, decrease inflammation, and permit the muscle to grow.

Myofascial facial massage also considers rejuvenation through the release of facial muscles from pathological overstrain by acting on the fascia, and this is a distinctive feature of the massage. Myofascial massage is considered the most effective way to restore lost contours and oval of the face, as well as remove obvious age-related changes. Wrinkles, folds, swelling, sagging skin and other negative changes are caused by disorders that develop under the skin. This is where they need to be addressed. This is an excellent alternative to plastic surgery, injections and other cosmetic procedures.
